Spot on, Krejames! I could have written all five of your well-thought-out paragraphs!
This is meaningful to me because I worked on the publication, AID TO BIBLE UNDERSTANDING. While the quotation below is found, too, in the INSIGHT book, I prefer the former book. Thus it is written, but is it practiced? Just WHO is my brother?
Regarding "love believes all things," from the 13th chapter of 1 Corinthians:
"Love produces confidence in one's faithful Christian brothers, [italics added] not suspecting them or disbelieving them unless there is absolute proof they are wrong." ATBU, p.1083, para. 1.

For me, as Mrs. Flipper described.
Had it 3 weeks ago, and I was on the floor from morning till night. It always happens, for me, upon waking up in the morning. I open my eyes and the room is spinning.
Doc prescribed Dramamine, which stays on my nightstand. Can be result of a virus, I was told, because others had it at the same time as me.
I get motion sickness badly, but early meds stop it totally.
Hope you're better!

GB Not Providing Food-Helpers Write Articles

why does the governing body not write these articles themselves?

Who Actually Supplies the "Food"?
There were, of course, articles that did come through from "anointed" brothers in different countries. [footnote #37: In almost all cases the article came because President Knorr had sent an assignment to the person to write it.] These, however, were subject to review, revision and even total rewriting according to the discretion of the Writing Department overseer, Karl Adams. Yet Karl himself was not of the "anointed." He felt no hesitance in turning over an article written by one of the "anointed" to one of the "other sheep" for reworking or rewriting, and frequently did so. No one of his superiors had any objection to his doing so.
The sole exception to this rule were the writings prepared by the vice president, Fred Franz. As Karl stated to me, Knorr had made clear that the vice president's writings were to be altered only with the vice president's permission.
In one Governing Body meeting when this subject of preparation of "spiritual food" came up, President Knorr spontaneously acknowledged that the great bulk of the writing was done by those of the "other sheep" class. To any one writing in the Writing Department this was obvious. Though the Writing Department has since been greatly expanded, the situation remains essentially the same. [footnote # 38: The writing staff in recent years numbers 20 or more persons in all, the great majority professing to be of the "other sheep."]
The reason generally given to explain away this anomaly is that, even though the non-anointed members do the thinking, development and writing of the material, it is always read and approved by persons of the "anointed" before printing. Evidently this somehow adds an anointed touch or quality to the material. [footnote # 39: Compare Haggai 2:11, 12.] The very fact that such reasoning must be resorted to of itself shows the strained nature of the claim made as to the application of the food-supplying aspect of Jesus' parable.

Ray Franz stated [IN SEARCH OF CHRISTIAN FREEDOM] that the GB's review of material written by the other sheep gave it the "anointed touch."
Edited to add: Some 45 years ago, an anointed sister who was friends with Rutherford's secretary, Anton Koerber, related to me that JWs, largely of the remnant at that time, were encouraged to send their thoughts to the Society. She was discouraged that she received no reply, but Br. Koerber told her to be patient. Her thoughts -- perhaps developed independently of what others had surmised -- eventually appeared in the WT two years later. Her concern had been over the correct identity of "Spiritual Israel."
Her tales of early life in the org were fascinating.

Edited to add that post has been cropped on right margin. Maybe it's just me and my Mac.
What first comes to mind is the "Standfasters," whom I believe were Bible Students of the WWI era. They took a stand against praying for the country, if I recall correctly. They were criticized by their leaders for not conforming to Society directives.
What happens when the Watchtower Society makes a mistake? In 1984, Karl Klein a member of the Governing Body, addressed this issue in the October 1, 1984 Watchtower page 22. He says, "World War I was raging, and even though the most prominent brothers had been unjustly imprisoned over the war issue, the need for Christian neutrality was not fully appreciated by those taking the lead. A few who saw the issue clearly took offense and separated themselves from the Bible Students, calling themselves Standfasters. They warned me that if I stayed with the Bible Students I would lose out on being of the 'little flock' of Jesus' anointed followers." Karl Klein although he appears to have agreed with the Standfasters in principle, goes on to say, "Mother, though not yet dedicated, helped me to make the right decision. I could not see myself leaving those from whom I had learned so much, and I decided to take my chances with my Bible Student brothers. It was a test of loyalty."
Did the Watchtower organization make a mistake? Apparently so because just prior to World War II, they adjusted their viewpoint. Their new viewpoint was now identical to that of the Standfasters. (See the Watchtower, Dec. 1, 1981 pg. 29.) This is a perfect example of the Watchtower's position that it is not important if the organization is right or wrong. What is important is loyalty to the Watchtower Society. The fact that faithful followers of the organization believed in a position before the organization did, was not looked at with favour. Apparently it was not as important who was right but who was loyal to the organization.

Local Elders whip the Congregation into a frenzy about donating to the Organization
by James Jack inbecause of the may broadcast about how funds are down, our elders have been in their talks "encouraging" or pressuring everyone to donate more to the world wide work.. it freaks me out how we already give them a set amount of $600 a month, plus what is contributed by the congregation(usually $400 to $500 a month).
heck, our local congregation bank account even got below $500 for the first time this past may since i have been doing the accounts(4 years now).
for june, we raised a whopping $2400 to send into the branch.. the most amazing part, is that only a select few contribute on a regular basis every month.
